Recruitment for Volunteers of A&R Caravan Plan

As a key component of the Agricultural & Rural Studies (hereinafter referred to as A&R) “Caravan Plan,” we are now recruiting “Caravan Ambassadors” (volunteer promoters) from the public. Volunteers will serve as “mobile bridges” connecting the journal with grassroots practices through vehicle branding promotion and in-depth academic interactions. Meanwhile, they will enjoy exclusive benefits and deeply engage in the entire process of agricultural knowledge dissemination.

I. Volunteer Tasks: Vehicle Branding Promotion – Becoming “Mobile Academic Advertisements”

Volunteers participating in the Caravan will receive custom-designed vehicle wraps featuring:

  • A&R Official Logo: Post the official LOGO of the A&R journal in highly visible locations on the vehicle (such as doors, windows, and the trunk) to enhance brand visual recognition.
  • Interactive QR Code for Engagement: Distribute exclusive QR code stickers/film. Scanning the code will directly link to the A&R journal’s official website, current key thematic issues, or open-access paper libraries, enabling the public to quickly access academic resources.

Promotional Value: During their daily commutes, trips to caravan stops, or participation in field activities, volunteers’ vehicles will become “mobile academic billboards.” These vehicles will attract the attention of passersby, including local residents, farmers, and students, encouraging them to scan the QR codes to explore A&R content. This initiative extends the journal’s influence beyond academic circles to a broader urban and rural public, particularly helping grassroots groups access cutting-edge agricultural knowledge.

II. Exclusive Benefits: Scholar Community Center Privileges – Deep Engagement in Academic Networking

To acknowledge volunteers’ promotional contributions, A&R offers the following high-value rewards:

  1. Free Accommodation: Volunteers will receive two nights of free accommodation at the “Scholar Community Center”—a cross-disciplinary exchange space created by A&R, equipped with academic discussion areas, leisure reading corners, and other facilities. Currently, two Scholar Community Centers have been established in Jiande City and Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province, China with plans to expand to additional locations domestically and internationally in the future.
  2. Dinner with the Founder & Executive Editor: Volunteers will be invited to a dinner with the A&R Editorial Team. This is an opportunity to share field experiences, exchange insights on grassroots promotion, and discuss potential collaborations (e.g., contributing to future cover stories or research projects).
  3. Priority participation: Priority participation in academic activities organized by A&R (such as expert lectures, farmer workshops, cultural exhibitions, etc.), get close to global agricultural scholars and frontline practitioners, and immerse yourself in the whole process of agricultural knowledge transformation.

Significance of the Benefits: This program is not only a reward for volunteers’ promotional efforts but also a chance to deeply integrate into the academic community. Through accommodation and the dinner, volunteers can move beyond a one-way promotional role and establish direct connections with the journal’s core team and industry experts. This helps them accumulate resources and networks for personal career development (such as in agricultural research, public welfare promotion, or brand collaboration) while gaining a deeper understanding of the social value of agricultural knowledge dissemination.

III. Significance of the Recruitment

Volunteers are not just “promoters” of the Caravan Plan—they are connectors between academia, practice, and the public. Through vehicle branding, they bring A&R’s academic voice to the fields; through exclusive benefits, they gain a key to engage with global agricultural frontiers. We invite individuals who are passionate about the “Three Rural Issues” (agriculture, rural areas, and farmers) and eager to share knowledge to join us. Together, let’s drive the bidirectional flow of “Three Rural Issues” academia—from “paper to field” and from “scholars to the public”!
